GROUP SHOW GALLERY ARTISTS

ArtZone 461, San Francisco’s newest Fine Art Gallery, announces its Grand Opening and we invite you to attend our celebration, a benefit for Visual Aid, on Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 4-8 pm.  20% of designated Opening Day sales will be donated to Visual Aid.

Located at 461 Valencia Street, between 15th and 16th Streets, ArtZone 461 features 3,000 square feet of exhibition space, 14 ft. ceilings, a 100 ft. long brick wall, an extensive Art library, a generous flat file area, plenty of natural light and a friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff.

Owners Steven Lopez and Eric Koehler bring to this venture a generation of experience as collectors, gallery owners and partners (since 1982).  Lopez formerly owned the historic Charles Campbell Gallery (1972–2008).  Building on this foundation, ArtZone 461 promises a continued and noteworthy contribution to the Bay Area cultural landscape.

ArtZone 461’s mission focuses on Art as Experience, Art as more than a two or three-dimensional object.  We recognize the intangible invitation to a reality Experience:  Living with original Art and nurturing a relationship with it.   We assist institutions and all levels of collectors in developing a personal style and articulating private space - through the Art Experience.

The Gallery is poised to be a leader in the artistic expansion of the multi-cultural aesthetic exchange now thriving in the City’s Mission District.  We happily join our neighbors in the performing, educational, healing, dining and visual arts:  The Lab and Theater Rhinoceros; New College and CCSF; Roxie and Victoria Theaters and many others.  We’re across the street from Intersection For The Arts in the SF neighborhood that boasts a blossoming and growing gallery and food scene.

The Grand Opening event on June 22 will benefit Visual Aid, the Bay Area organization committed to encouraging artists with life-threatening illnesses to continue their creative work, and sets the stage for our ongoing commitment to engage art collectors and community alike.  We embrace Visual Aid’s goal of Keeping Art Alive!

HERE & NOW is our opening exhibition which includes both familiar and new names:  Joseph Bacon, Kevin Bean, Michael Beck, Adam Cahoon, Jane Fisher, Noah Phyllis Levin, Eileen Starr Moderbacher, Gage Opdenbrouw, Frank Ryan, Brian Tepper and William Wolf (estate).  Revolving shows of established and emerging Bay Area & California artists continue through our inaugural summer (ends 8/16).
