“The Trechamp series, inspired by Duchamp, I explore the head as a location in which to illuminate the thinking process through mundane images.
My idea for Playing with Duchamp was influenced by Julius Wasser’s photograph of Marcel Duchamp & Eve Babitz playing chess during the Duchamp retrospective at the Pasadena Museum of Art in 1963 and altered by my memory of Duchamp's "The Fountain" (urinal) which had made an inedible impression on me. My son Ron executed the modification of the original photograph. Reuven Itelman

Reuven Itelman at the age of 27 came to the US to continue his education. He received a Master degree in Engineering from U.C. Berkeley. After working for two years as an engineer he changed his career, and went into jewelry design and fabrication. Making art has been his hobby for many years. While attending art fairs in the 60s, he has never had an exhibition. He does not claim to be an artist, he just loves to make art.
