“A space-filling machine releases incipient curves into a closed space.  Endowed with velocity and an erratic sense of direction, the curves wander freely, indifferent and indeterminate, constrained only by the law of non-self-intersection.  Eventually, the curves exhaust their geometric potential and the computational limit of their maker.

The machine is at work.  These are the traces of three of an infinite number of possible lifetimes.”  Zoe & Luke

Luke Ogrydziak and Zoë Prillinger are principals of Ogrydziak/Prillinger Architects, a San Francisco-based design studio focusing on progressive design that specializes in the inclusion of new media and digital technologies in architecture.

In the interest of broadening the range of spatial organization strategies, the office sustains a commitment to research work that explores the formal consequences of various structuring field conditions.

Current work explores amplified fractal dimensions and models of randomness to create alternative formal systems that are both organic and mathematical.  Both partners are Friedman Associate Professors at the University of California at Berkeley.
